The classic Espresso Martini is a perfect after dinner drink with a luxurious and decadent dessert. We have selected the Mermaid Sea Salt vodka for ours produced by the Isle of White distillery and included a honeycomb sugar syrup; the two work in perfect harmony and compliment the sea salt fudge handmade by Roly's in Lyndhurst.
The vodka selected has a key impact on the overall taste of your Espresso Martini based on the way it intercts with the bitterness of the coffee and coffee liqeuer. Ours includes a cold brew espresso shot with an intense coffee flavour; you can of course substitute this for a freshly brewed espresso. If you are allow the espresso to cool slightly before making your cocktail so it doesn't melt too much of the ice in your shaker, over diluting the cocktail.
Make sure you give the cocktail a vigerous shake to ensure a good smooth foam on the cocktail when your pour it out; perfect for floating the traditional three coffee beans on. If you like to eat your garnish and want to break from tradition why not float three Malteasers instead in the foam?
